Having a family member with an illness or condition like epilepsy is physically, emotionally, and financially draining. Besides regular visits to neurologists, there are expensive tests (EEG, MRI), and expensive medicines. A monthly Lamictal dose alone can be over $800. Even for a family with two incomes it can be hard at times to make ends meet.
